About Fogarty Photography:

It has been said, that we don't remember days ... we remember moments. Fogarty Photography was created to celebrate life's little moments through the art of photography.

Fogarty Photography is, very simply, committed to providing you with images that you will treasure.

Erin Fogarty Owen is inspired by taking a photograph that tells a story or documents a life. She approaches photographing your family as if it were her own. Informal portraits, candid moments, and the cherished details of everyday life are the cornerstones to the stories Fogarty Photography helps tell.

Erin's interest in documenting life through photography traces back to her childhood in the Midwest. Erin grew up in a family of journalists and photographers in Nebraska -- exactly where her love for black & white pictures began.

Erin loves how a photo of an ordinary moment actually reveals, upon closer inspection, an extraordinary moment. A photo can capture a toothless smile, a dance in front of the Capitol, a run through a neighbor's field, or a very important secret. But most importantly, a good photo simply documents life and preserves the memory for future generations.

Fogarty Photography's subjects include informal children & family portraits, engagement portraits, candids, and the landscapes and architecture of the Nation's capital. Erin's "My Walk through Washington" series is a popular art collectors item. Her images from the series are framed, numbered, signed, limited editions that are available for purchase. Her series is currently being exhibited at Clark & Weinstock and at Results Gym on the Hill.

Photos of Erin's have appeared in the Washington Post Magazine, People Magazine, Capitol File Magazine, and on several NBC News programs including "Meet the Press", "Dateline", and the "Today" show.

After graduating from the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kansas, with a degree in journalism, Erin worked on Capitol Hill as a deputy communications director in the United States Senate for six years; worked as a television producer for NBC's "Meet the Press" for six years; and formed Fogarty Photography to pursue her love of photography.
